Senior Accountant – Indianapolis, IN Full Time

Introduction:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant / Tax Senior to join an established Indianapolis-based professional services team supporting individuals, high-net-worth clients, business owners, and closely held businesses.

The ideal candidate has a background spanning public accounting, tax, financial reporting, client advisory, or broader finance and accounting leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, with exposure to complex client situations and high-net-worth individuals.
• Supporting clients with tax planning, financial reporting, accounting matters, and day-to-day financial questions.
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements and helping clients understand the story behind their numbers.
• Working with business owners and other high-value clients to identify opportunities, resolve issues, and provide practical financial guidance.
• Supporting accounting functions including general ledger activity, reconciliations, cash management, budgeting, and financial analysis where required.
• Researching tax and accounting matters and assisting with the development of practical recommendations for clients.
• Building long-term client relationships and delivering a responsive, professional service experience.

Requirements:

• Experience in tax preparation and/or review, including individual and business returns.
• Exposure to high-net-worth individuals, business owners, closely held businesses, or complex personal financial matters.
• A background in public accounting, tax, financial services, client accounting, or a related professional environment.
• Strong financial statement, bookkeeping, and/or management accounting knowledge.
• The ability to communicate confidently with clients and explain financial or tax matters clearly.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and sound commercial judgment.
• Experience with tax and accounting software such as Lacerte, CS Professional Suite, QuickBooks, or similar systems.
